Hi TLhikan, i just finished reading Redwall: Revolution at Fanfiction.net and wanted to let you know how amazing i thought it was. Without a doubt the best Redwall fanfic I’ve ever read. Were you planning on writing more? If not I understand, but god damn was it a fantastic bit of fanfiction. If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could you let me know how the story was going to end? I would really appreciate it.
Wow, I can't believe people are still reading R:R! Thank you for your kind words; unfortunately now that I'm in grad school I doubt my life will ever be at a place where I can finish the story. Here's an outline as to where the story was supposed to go (I've lost my original notes, so there could be some continuity errors here):
A combined army led by Bomal and Rockstripe marches after Izacall, joined by Canrick and Brevfid. Roven journeys to the Northlands and meets up with Erbonn.
Izacall ambushes the Long Patrol/Free Vermin army, heavily injuring Rockstripe. A northlander army led by Roven and Erbonn arrives just in time, Roven and Izacall duel and Roven wins but spares Iz's life.
From there, the "Roven saga" sort of concludes and my plans were more vague; Roven works to improve relationships between "vermin" and "woodlanders", but things still have a ways to go. Izacall goes into exile in the Domain.
I intended to zoom back out and focus again on technological/political development; trade between Mossflower and the wider world, the discovery of the Redwall-equivalent of the "New World" and beyond. My original dream was to take the Redwall world all the way to modern technology, but the story of Roven and co. grew into its own thing (and I'm glad I did, I think it made a better story than "so and so invents the whatever").
Thank you so much for replying! I really love how this story dealt with the relationship between vermin and woodlanders, as I always thought the books needed to take a closer look at the subject.
I’m glad that Roven succeeded in being a force of change for vermin kind, someone who can unite the species.
Once again, thank you for giving me some closure. I think you have something really special here, something that all Redwall fans would appreciate as a kind of conclusion to the series. You should consider posting this outline on Fanfiction.net as a last chapter so that readers there can see how it was meant to end.
